Sponsors Celebrate AYSC

On Friday, Feb. 16, sponsors LeagueSide and Lyft threw a party for AYSC in our winter practice space in the gym at St Paul's RC Church on S. 2nd St. There was much to celebrate, since AYSC is entering our 20th year of serving the children of Allentown! And, Coach Frank Ortiz (who moonlights as AYSC's President) was surprised with an award for Coach of the Year. In a contest sponsored by Lyft, and voted on by AYSC families, Coach Frank accepted the award on behalf of all AYSC coaches and volunteers who dedicate their time and energy to their players. He acknowledged that most coaches are helping their players both on and off the field, and thanked all for their dedication to our kids and their families.

As AYSC enters our 20th year, we thank the dozens of volunteers who came before, laying the groundwork for the program to be as successful as it is today. Each year we reach 400-500 Allentown children, providing the opportunity to learn, to run, to laugh, to compete. We do this through the graciousness of our sponsors and the dedication of our volunteers. Around 60 players, families, and volunteers turned out to celebrate, eat, and even play a little soccer. We thank Lyft for throwing us the party, and LeagueSide for making it happen!
